About Us
Jarla Recordings is a creative music collective based in Stockholm bringing together songwriting, recording, production and live performances. Rooted in a love for music made by people, we believe in the beauty of human expression and the art of collaboration to craft music in all its forms.

Fredrik Jonsson
Behind Jarla Recordings is Fredrik Jonsson. Fredrik is a musician, songwriter, composer and producer whose work has always been shaped by collaboration.
Moving between genres and musical traditions, his projects range from songwriting and recordings with established artists to instrumental music and choral works.
At the heart of Fredrik’s work is a passion for setting Swedish poetry to music, including poems by Pär Lagerkvist and Karin Boye. His work with Boye’s poetry also led to the theatre production Stjärnornas tröst, performed at Gothenburg City Theatre from 2016 to 2018.
Another long-standing project is the annual Christmas concert at Hotel Birger Jarl, a musical tradition spanning 20 years.
For Fredrik, music is about bringing people together and creating something that could only happen through creative exchange.

Lowe Jonsson
Lowe is a key part of the creative work at Jarla Recordings. As a musician, songwriter, producer and mixing engineer he is involved in shaping music from the first idea to the final mix.
Primarily a guitarist, Lowe brings a strong musical sensibility to every project. His work moves between performance, songwriting and production, with a focus on thoughtful arrangements and finding the right sound for each song.
At the heart of Lowe’s work is a passion for authentic performances and the details that give a recording its character. Through his work at Jarla Recordings, he helps shape each project into a finished piece of music that feels true to the artist and the song.
